Juani Feliz and Claribel Jimenez first met casually in May 2007. “We were created by Juani’s older sister, who had been a friend of Clari’s attending college,” the duo shares. “At the time, I was both in serious relationships and not imagined we’d wind updating 5 years later.” But that’s precisely what happened when Juan—an actress who stars in the Amazon comedy Harlem and can appear in a future HBO Max miniseries DMZ—and Disney exec Clari reconnected in January 2012. “We crossed paths again, and dove deeper into understanding each other,” they recall.
“One great conversation resulted in the next, and that we found inside us a long-distance relationship between Boston and New York that spanned four years.”
They moved in together in 2016 and, 2 yrs later, Juan proposed in epic fashion to have a flash mob at Brooklyn Bridge Park. They began planning for a wedding nearly exactly 2 yrs later—and then postponed one more year because of COVID.
When their 90 guests finally gathered at The Foundry in Long Island City, New York, they were greeted having a welcome sign that read, “It was well worth the wait.” It truly was, the brides agree. “If you've always envisioned a marriage of your dreams, it's 1,000-percent worthwhile,” they are saying wedding dresses with sleeves.
