If this past Bridal Fashion Week showed us something, it’s that bridal designers are continuing to push the envelope on traditional wedding gowns. From short party dresses to dramatic puffy sleeves, bridal trends are shifting in a bold direction, and we are so for it. One trend right now we cannot take our eyes from is cut-out wedding gowns. Think keyhole necklines, open backs, and subtly revealing midriffs.

To note, cut-out dresses aren’t nearly sex appeal and baring all—we’re not referring to looks which will send the grandparents into complete shock. This trend is about confidence and owning the body. We are also loving this trend since it works from a formal city wedding to a more laid-back, beachfront affair. Or, it might make for an enjoyable and flirty second look post-ceremony. Whatever the vibe of the wedding is, there’s a cut-out dress to complement simple wedding dresses.

Sometimes less is much more, one feminine silhouette combined with a flattering ribcage cut-out is ideal for the minimalist bride. Another fit-and-flare short wedding dress is ideal for the bride searching for a dress around the whimsical side.
