Read on for Kristina’s telling of her and her wife Kindell’s Waterfront Micro Wedding in Newport Rhode Island.

Kindell and I met in the copy machine where both of us worked. Kindell was new to the team and I could tell she needed outside assistance figuring out the flamboyant machine code. After some time had passed Kindell inquired about a bowling date but both of us knew it wasn’t exactly an excellent date. It’s the best thing our journey didn’t end there.

There was still hope and that we had other possibilities to make special connections. At the time, I is at grad school and invited Kindell to complete some use me in a local cafe, and as we would enjoy our feet at India Point Park. This is where we fell in love! I began to edit Kindell’s film scripts and she or he would remind me to concentrate on my studies. Kindell and I are grateful our journey didn’t end in the bowling alley! Now, every February 6th, we go bowling on our anniversary to celebrate where our adventure began!

Every New Year’s Day, Kindell and I visit Easton Beach in Newport, Rhode Island for that Polar Plunge into the Atlantic Ocean. Kindell invited some of our closest friends and her sisters to participate in the proposal. After returning to the cold water, Kindell had each line up around the sand and handed me a single red rose. Kindell played a unique recording of Alicia Keys’ “Unthinkable” that my close friend and musical artist, Paul Lowe recorded. Then, she got recorded on one knee and browse from an entry she wrote within our daily journal that people write to each other every day. Surrounded by love, she inquired about continuing to invest the rest of my entire life with her!

I recently lost enough weight and desired to make sure I was comfortable with my body and also the dress that I would walk down the aisle to satisfy my bride. I often call Kindell vintage and well, she's a photographer and filmmaker and desired to go by having an old Hollywood glam look that I knew she would be crazy for!

Kindell originally would have a friend design making her jumpsuit. Back in March 2020 when she was originally scheduled to become fit and sized her custom web design, COVID-19 closed stores and kept us in our own home a time whenever we needed to locate her something to put on.

But then my DB stylist called me around the time we'd started to search for other options to remind me that my dress or vintage wedding dresses is at! She asked if there is anything she may help me with. I immediately requested if she may help us visit a jumpsuit in Kindell’s size. She returned to me via text and make contact with me after searching high and low and calling different stores to locate this special jumpsuit in what we'd hoped would be a perfect size for Kindell.

We shopped together for Kindell’s jumpsuit (as we were trying to puzzle out options according to COVID-19) but my dress and my complete look were an overall total surprise to her! She did surprise me by having a custom corset back that stacees team made for her, an attractive belt, and extremely sweet accessories! Her look was PERFECT for our Newport wedding!

Be available to try different styles when you arrive in the store because neither person ended up with what we should originally think we wanted. I thought I wanted something with sleeves and lace which was form-fitting and Kindell didn’t fully realize what she would look the very best in. We are extremely happy to have experienced stylists to help with this journey who have been honest around and assisted in finding the perfect fit.

Also, don’t bring a lot of people—2 or 3 opinions tend to be more than enough and also the staff is going to be completely honest along with you! Have a plan for your dress and don’t forget that you'll want to plan for alterations, accessories, and all sorts of extras!
