Frank Muller launches Cintrée Curvex Master Banker Asia Exclusive collection
Frank Muller wholeheartedly pursued the mantra "Go big or go home." Why make a watch with only 10 complications when you can make the most complicated watch ever? Likewise, why deal with the hassle of dual time zones when you can have three on one watch? And – get this – it’s all adjusted via a crown.
Like most horological complications, the Master Banker watch was developed out of common necessity. The product suite was launched with a simple plot about an Iranian banker who wanted to see three trading time zones simultaneously. Since time is of the essence in trading, a banker's watch must be quick and easy to read.
While most multi-time zone watches only have an hour hand, the Master Banker features three separate time indicators, each with hour and minute hands. Additionally, the time can be set in half-hour increments to accommodate all time zones.
But legibility also needs to be combined with ease of use, hence the single-crown operation. In the default position, the crown is used to wrap the wire. In the middle position, it is used to set the two auxiliary time zones, and in the third position, the crown is used to set the local time. This is achieved by adding a gear to drive the two second time zones, while the local time runs on the standard gear train.
Housed in the iconic Cintrée Curvex case, the Franck Muller Master Banker Asia Exclusive is available in 18K rose gold, stainless steel or hand-polished black steel and is available in seven eye-catching colors from bright orange to denim blue, with Two sizes - 36mm x 50.40mm or 39.6mm x 55,40mm. Powered by the in-house caliber MVD 2800-MBSC, the watch has a 42-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 30 m.
