Peyton Manning broke the Madden NFL 24 record for passing touchdowns in one season when he scored four touchdowns in the Denver Broncos' win over the Houston Texans in Week 16. Manning has now thrown 51 passing touchdown passes during the season, which is more than Tom Brady and the 50 touchdown passes that he threw his way in 2007 with The New England Patriots.
Similar to Brady in 2007's record-breaking season, Manning's breakout year could be the catalyst for Madden NFL 24 MVP recognition. Manning has already received MVP awards at four different times throughout his career and is considered the frontrunner to earn the title a sixth time. Manning currently has 5.211 yards in total passing during the season and has thrown only 10 interceptions, which is in addition to his stratospheric touchdown total.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about Manning's 51 touchdowns is how well-spread they have been. Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Eric Decker and Wes Welker all have at least 10 touchdown catches. In 2007. only Randy Moss had double-digit touchdown catch for the Patriots which included 23 over the season.
The Broncos have already secured a spot in the playoffs and are currently trying to keep the Patriots in check for the no. 1 overall seed in the AFC and home-field advantage through the playoffs. With any luck, Manning hopes to secure the second Super Bowl title of his career.
