This is a good thing, as even though D2R Items Immortal might not look at first but it's going as a significant game changer for the series going forward with features that resemble MMOs, such as social networking and a focus on PvP and live-service "living game" strategy that has never been seen before previously in Diablo.

For the Diablo fanbase's most loyal fans it was the announcement that the game would be coming to PC that set the scene following the catastrophe that followed Diablo Immortal's announcement. In the beginning, it was evident that Diablo players wanted of playing Diablo Immortal for the PC however, it required Blizzard time, which was more than three years, to achieve that dream.

As per senior designer Scott Burgess, who recently talked to GameSpot, Blizzard knew following the announcement of the game that players were eager play Diablo Immortal on PC. This was in addition to the realization that dedicated PC players could simply use mobile emulators to play Diablo Immortal on PC regardless.

Blizzard started the process of developing the PC version to make sure players could enjoy a genuine PC experience. In regards to the reason it took the time to announce Diablo Immortal for PC, Burgess said it was due to polishing.

"Part part of why we delayed buy d2r items so long was that we wanted to ensure that the quality that the game had was at a level that we were satisfied with it, and we were happy to launch it concurrently with the launch on mobile," Burgess said. "We believe that we're at an extremely high point."
