In a blog post(opens in a new tab) published yesterday, the development team shared an update on the game's many bots. The team said that it was "working on internal methods as well as tools that will make it more difficult for bots be able to".

This announcement comes after an announcement last week that stated Smilegate had "been working on designing effective tools and methods to identify and remove robots out of the game" and had banned more than a million "bot" accounts from its servers(opens in a new page) the 4th of March.

"We are aware that this won't fix the situation by itself and there are bots present in the game, and we'd like to offer reassurance that this was just one aspect of an ongoing battle.

"Following this initial massive ban wave, we're still rolling out additional bans to clear out any bots that are able to enter the game. Furthermore, we're currently working on internal methods and tools to make it much more difficult for bots and bots to gain access to the game, especially with the rate at which they are being created. These updates will be in the game. "We've received feedback from players regarding the impact these bots could have on the in-game economy with regards to gold purchasing and selling, and we are closely looking into this," the post explained. "We have also changed the reward for gold to silver in some Rapport and Guide Quest rewards in order to protect against Lost Ark Gold buy the abuse that these programs can be used by botters as well as gold producers."
