"[Kotick's pay] is an unpalatable pill for many WoTLK Gold, as an actual matter and it's imperative to focus on positive actions to improve working conditions for employees as well as the role we can play to ensure this takes place."

But, more importantly, Microsoft should know exactly the implications of this purchase. One reason Microsoft was able purchase one of the largest gaming companies with a fairly small price was because the scandal of harassment caused a decrease in its share price. As noted by lawyer Richard Hoeg, who also described some of the antitrust complexities that affect the price of shares and cultural issues may be connected.

"What I find most intriguing about the $95 per share price is the way it is in line with current market value of Activision earlier this year, prior to its present troubles," Hoeg said. "One might even say that it's not a premium in relation to the actual worth of the assets that Activision owns, in addition, Microsoft is in reality"buying low" based on the premise that the price has been lowered because of cultural issues that could be cleaned up through the acquisition (and the control of the entity from Microsoft the company itself)."

This is a corporation with decent and clean reputation acquiring a company with nothing but the price affected by the recent scandal, and the implied expectation being that the parent company will be able to help with the investigation. It's in Microsoft's financial interest to take care of its cheap WoTLK Classic Gold finances and reform Activision's tattered image and reputation, not to mention that it's just the right ethical thing to do.
