A title that is highly esteemed in the world of Muay Thai is the World Muay Thai Champion. This title is held by a select few fighters and is considered to be one of the most prestigious titles in all of martial arts. The criteria for being awarded this title are extremely stringent, and it takes years of consistent hard work and dedication to even have a chance at earning it. Even once a fighter has been awarded the World Muay Thai Champion title, they will still need to maintain their composure and continue to work hard in order to keep their crown.

In Thailand, the most prestigious Muay Thai championship is the World Muay Thai Federation (WMT) World Championship. The WMT was founded in 1987 and since then it has been hosting the world’s largest and most prestigious Muay Thai championships. The WMT World Championship is currently held every year in a different country with different weight classes.
