Why are 40 cm fitted sheets so hard to find?
There is a reason that fitted sheets are usually 60 cm, or 1 foot, long. This is because mattresses tend to be 60 cm long and 80 cm, or 2 feet, wide. So when a fitted sheet is 60 cm or 1 foot long, it will cover the mattress properly. However, if a fitted sheet is 40 cm, or 1 foot, long, then it will not fit properly over the mattress. In other words, the mattress will be exposed along the sides.

There is a reason why fitted sheets are different sizes, i.e. because mattresses vary in size and there are a variety of fitted sheet sizes. A 40 cm fitted sheet is just a normal fitted sheet that has just a few inches cut off, thus creating a 40 cm fitted sheet.

Why is it so expensive?
Egyptian cotton has a higher thread count, which means it has thinner threads. It is in turn softer than other types of cotton so it keeps its shape better and ensures that your fitted sheet lasts a lot longer. It is also known to be one of the best fabrics around when it comes to quality and comfort.
However, if you do not mind a slightly cheaper fitted sheet then there are plenty of companies producing and selling 40 cm fitted sheets online. As this blog post will show, it is worth investing money in a 40 cm fitted sheet as they tend to last longer than other types of fitted sheets.
